A plain twill cap lives or dies on its logo. A cap in heather knit, corduroy or a good camo has already done half the work before anything is stitched on it, which is why these outsell plain versions in retail almost everywhere.

Each fabric changes the decoration. Corduroy has a wale that swallows fine stitching, so a woven patch usually reads better. Heather knit moves, so embroidery needs a stabiliser. Waxed cotton cannot be pressed with heat at all. We flag these at mockup rather than after.

Rope colour matters more on a patterned fabric, not less: on camo, a tonal rope disappears and a single contrast rope gives the eye somewhere to land. We will make a recommendation with the mockup and show both.

Wipe it, never machine wash it, and keep it away from heat — the wax will move. Re-wax occasionally. We print that on the label because it is the one fabric people ruin quickly.
